Equinox's Creation Myth

Long ago, three gods wrested the elements from Chaos and created the world to trap it.

Warden, He of Light, created men, and dwarves, and elves, and many other races who would walk beneath his sun and tame the land.

Furis, He of Shadow, created goblins, and orcs, and giants, and many other creatures who would lurk in the dark corners of the world, terrorizing his brother's progeny.

Judicus, He of Balance, ignored such folly and created the beasts of the land, the birds of the sky, and the fish of the sea.

As centuries passed, Warden the Sunbringer and Furis the Moonfather grew ever more furious with eachother, ordering their followers to a constant war with their rivals. The war escalated with each passing day, until finally the two brothers were no longer content to do battle by proxy. The heavens tore themselves apart and the earth collapsed into itself as the two titans battled, Warden's strength balanced perfectly by Furis' cleverness, and finally it seemed that all the gods had created would be destroyed, and Chaos would reclaim what it had lost.

Judicus approached his brothers in a fury, showing them what they had done. Working quickly, the three gods did what they could to repair the damage, but even as they mended the world, Warden and Furis seemed intent on renewing their battle. Reasoning with his brothers, Judicus proposed that if the two were truly so intent on destroying eachother, they should give him their divine power lest they unmake Creation again.

Warden and Furis agreed, gave to Judicus the bulk of their power, and resumed their battle. But before the first blow landed, Judicus lashed out with his new strength and felled them both, saying "You are fools! Do you not see, Warden, that your strength cannot defeat your brother's wits? Do you not see, Furis, that all your cleverness cannot overcome your brother's skill? Neither shall gain the upper hand, but you are both too stubborn to see it! Enough, then. I am your better, now, and though you may hate me and hate eachother, this world will not be destroyed by your stupidity."

So saying, Judicus ascended to his throne in the Heavens, while Warden and his closest followers went to the east, and Furis and his closest servants went to the west. And those that remained rejoiced at the restoration of balance, and called their world "Equinox."
